We welcome your application to our program through ERAS which we use exclusively for our recruiting process.  Applications cannot be accepted through email and will not be reviewed outside of the ERAS system.

We begin reviewing applications in September and continue reviewing them through December.  Our interviews are scheduled in December and January. We interview several days a week for those two months.  Deadline for applying to our program is December 15, 2011.

The minimum criteria for applying to our program is:

• three letters of recommendation, one from a family physician
• passing scores are preferable on the first attempt of USMLE Steps 1 and 2; otherwise we do not adhere to any score requirement.
• Dean’s Letter and Medical School transcript, personal statement
• Medical school graduation within 3 years of applying
• US clinical experience for anyone out of medical school more than 1 year

We interview international medical school graduates who have demonstrated an outstanding academic record and a commitment to Family Medicine with US medical experience through transitional or internship year in the US.  The University of Connecticut sponsors only J-1 visas only.  Our department does not offer observerships or externships.
